Hey Pumpkin!

November 3, 2018

It may not be October anymore, but I’m not ready to trade in my pumpkins for poinsettias just yet! While everyone’s getting the Christmas mugs out & decking the halls (guys. It’s NOVEMBER!), I’m still reveling in this perfect fall weather & being your basic B* over here with my PSL, blanket scarves, and boots.

My porch still has a pumpkin (& probably will for the next few weeks), and my Christmas mugs are safely tucked away at the back of our cabinet (where they will remain until after thanksgiving) - because you just can’t rush a good fall season, y’all.

I was a little slow getting this post together but I’m not one to waste perfectly good content, so I had to share this pumpkin patch/fall look I did last weekend. We trekked our to Guthrie’s Farm for a little fall fun. Mostly, I wanted the photo ops for Lilly (because how long will she really tolerate me posing her in a wagon full of pumpkins?), but more so, it was just a great way to spend a Saturday.

Circle necklace - The Solid State | Vneck Pocket Tee - Madewell | Open front sweater - TJ Maxx (similar: ASOS)

It was the perfect temperature to bust out my fall wardrobe. I’ve been living in this chunky sweater cardi & I think it’s my new favorite piece. It’s perfect for layering and is both functional & fun/stylish. A cozy sweater is essential for those crisp autumn days (& cold winter nights!), and I've definitely got several hanging in my closet. Here are a few of my favorites this season:

V back sweater  - ASOS | Oversized dolman sleeve sweater - Milanoo | Chenille cable knit pullover - Charlotte Russe

I paired it with a basic white tee (a staple in any wardrobe) & a tan floppy hat. I completed the look with a pair of ankle booties with a chunky low heel (for when you want to add a bit of height but can’t commit to full heels; ie. you want to actually walk around the patch instead of tripping over pumpkins).

Scalloped satchel: ASOS (sold out); similar: Poshmark | Floppy hat: Windsor | Suede ankle booties: Lulus

East TN is just filled with natural beauty, so any time I get to be out in nature, I grab that chance (when the weather is the perfect temperature that is! I can not stand the cold). The farm was beautiful, and I enjoyed wandering around & checking out all the activities like the corn maze & petting zoo (Lilly was not impressed. I guess she’s still too young!). We’d been to other pumpkin patches before, but Guthrie’s is the best in my opinion because they offer several activities and their pumpkin selection is excellent! I’m a little sad that the Halloween season has already come & gone, but my pumpkins will be pulling double duty & acting as thanksgiving decor - which will probably be here before we know it!
